It wasn't long after I opened my On~Line Boutique and Website with Make Mine Pink.com, when I saw a Thread in the Forum 'Start~Up Nation 100's Best....' Hmmm. I was no Tech Savvy Lady but I figured what the heck, I can compete. I went to the Start ~ Up Nation website, and filled out the application for the competition and asked my Colleagues, Friends and Family to vote for me daily.Well I didn't win that time, but it sure was fun to watch the meter grow on a daily basis. That was last Year. This January 2010, I received a email from Lauren Smith, Producer, here in Michigan for Detroit Public TV. The Sloan Bros, Rich and Jeff, along with Detroit Public TV were going to do a TV show based on how to Start ~ Up your Own Business. Ok.....and they were asking me to be apart of it. Hmmm, what was this all about, Spam, Joke etc. Nope, I called Lauren and it was for real. My application just from that one time entry gave them enough info to call upon little ole me. She wanted to come out to my Store with her Crew and Interview me. So we husseled to build a mini version of Coeur d'Alene, at the back of our Ref~Fel Couture Boutique. We really had so much fun the day they came out. Fred, who did the filming and Tom who did the sound were really just the sweetest and so Patient. Lauren, was a doll coaching me with particular words I could add to my sentences. Overall it was a Great Fun Experience. Now these Photos are Blurry, because we forgot to grab our Camera on the way out the door. So Nick pulled out the ole Cell for these pics. After Part One was finished at our Store, Part Two was to take place the following week down at the TV Station. We met the Sloan Bros. and other Entrepreneurs as well. People who came in to see the taping and of course a extended crew putting this Production into Play. Another Fun filled 5 hour day in TV Land. Now even though I may end up on the Editing Room Floor, this Show will Air in Michigan tomorrow night March 16, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. Check your local Michigan listings for the station in your area. OR, you can go to www.dptv.org to find out.If you live outside of MI, check their website for air information on another stream for tomorrow evenings debut. In June this Show will go National and will be available for viewing in your area. You may just even see another Entrepreneur you know on the show.TTFN & Many Huggs my dear Friends,Nancywww.coeurdalenegifts.com
I just LOVE my Office, and my Studio!! I spend most of my day in my Office, and I want it Pretty. Please join us for "Office Chic", a themed Shopping event this Friday, ONLY at www.makeminepink.com
When I look around at all the beautiful and creative work spaces of my peers, I can’t help but notice that a new trend in office decorating has emerged. Office and studio spaces are no longer drab, monotonous and strictly functional. Instead, the utilitarian look we usually expect in work spaces is being replaced by chic and feminine décor. More and more, I'm seeing office spaces that are fashionable, fun and full of creativity – just like the women who use them.Take your office furniture, for example. Your chair, desk and work table don't need to look boring to be comfortable and practical. In fact, it's easy to take ordinary furnishings and create a look that's chic and inspiring. A light and airy slip cover will freshen up an old desk chair. A coat of pale blue paint will give new life to an old desk. Add some whimsical drawer pulls or fabulous decals to complete the picture. Let your imagination help you create a peaceful place – one where you will enjoy spending so many hours of your day.Unexpected embellishments make everyday office items pretty and fun, while still being useful. Try adding a clipboard that's been trimmed with beautiful papers, tied with ribbon and hung on a decorative hook until it's needed. It's a useful and now beautiful accessory. Vintage and antique items can serve in unusual ways to make your work space even prettier. A stack of file folders, propped up in a vintage wire basket, adds just the right amount of chic to the corner of a desk, and will work great for keeping you organized. When you work in a space that is pretty as well as calming, your imagination and creativity will flourish. I know that I immediately feel more relaxed and creative when I'm surrounded by calming colors and chic accessories. Try breathing new life into your own office space by adding chic and feminine touches, and watch your creativity soar to new heights.Have a Great week Sweet Friends!!!!Huggs, Nancywww.coeurdalenegifts.com
