Raindrops on Roses and ......My Favorite Things!

Finally back in Mi for a few months, maybe longer but so happy to be settled again! One of my hobbies that I am very dedicated to is the art of Crochet. I start when I was I think about 9. I learned Knitting and Crocheting, but the Knitting Needles went real quick, it just took too long for me to complete a project!
I guess I knew way back then that time was money.
Finding quality materials, and a Yarn Shop with knowledgeable staff is almost hard to find except for the Owner, now they know their biz. Now their are exceptions to my previous statement. And one is right here in MI, downtown Detroit in fact. 27 Miles for me on the freeway no less. But I can always count on Nick to take me their, he knows I just love the place."City Knits" owned by Karen Kendrick-Hands. Has a beautiful shop, in Downtown Detroit and a wonderful knowledgeable staff! www.cityknits.com I started shopping here years ago at our first trip down to "City Fest". So when I go on this annual event, let's say I do some major stocking up! I don't think I have ever been an arm's length away from a staff member for assistance. Now how is that for Customer Service? And I have to say it is a very 'caring' Customer Service they offer! Karen keeps a very up to date stock, and the latest trends in the Fiber world can always be found here. This trip I made sure I purchased all of my yarns for one of Stampington's 2010 Publications, "All Things String". I plan on submitting 5 pieces for their premiere publication next May.
Arm's Length I say, Amy the store Mgr. is standing right behind in the picture to the left.
Well, as one of my favorite TV host would say "I've got to gittin" stitchin that is for moi!

Thanks for stopping by and have a super great week!! TTFN

  8. Hi Nancy! Oh that sounds like heaven to me! I love being surrounded by all the colors and fibers in a yard shop. I love crocheting too. It always amazes me what one can do with a stick and yarn. Thanks for the great pictures.

  9. Hi Nancy! I am not a crocheter or knitter...Mom and my grandmothers were, bless their hearts! I look at the sumptuous yarns they have out now and use it for gift wrapping and such but what heaven to have a sweater out of it! Sounds like you have found your niche!!!
